Sup­port­ed by Cal­i­for­nia Art Coun­cil Grant and San Fran­cis­co Chi­nese Cul­tur­al Cen­ter, I was select­ed as artist in res­i­den­cy at Starr King Ele­men­tary School in San Fran­cis­co for 10 weeks from Oct.2012 to Jan. 2013.

It was a great time work­ing with grade third to fifth chil­dren by teach­ing them singing and play­ing per­cus­sion. I also shared my pipa con­cert per­for­mance expe­ri­ence with them. Every­day, lit­tle by lit­tle, they learned sin­gle note, rhythm, team work, stand­ing pos­ture at stage to the end of giv­ing a small recital, all stu­dents did such a won­der­ful job! Music is tru­ly send­ing the mag­ic spir­it, I saw every soul shines through the entire learn­ing and shar­ing process, it was a real­ly beau­ti­ful moment…
